project overview
Greensight came to Cal Poly Iter8 for a quoting tool redesign. I co-led a design team of 6 with Maxine Ancheta through the first phase. Two contracts later, I'm still designing for them. Three phases, from product to brand: a web platform redesign, a shipped mobile app, and a brand refresh for the ITAD conference floor.

what is greensight?
GreenSight uses AI to identify, price, and resell used electronics. The more devices that get recirculated, the fewer that end up in landfills.
A company retires a device.
Scans, grades, and prices it.
Resold, refurbished, or recycled.
Fewer devices in landfills.

Quoting Tool, full team.
I led the dashboard design while Maxine led the sidebar work and quote flow.
June – September 2025
Scan-for-Value, with Maxine.
We co-designed the web and mobile app. Shipped and live on the App Store.
January 2026 – Present
Brand Refresh + Conference Materials, solo.
I refreshed GreenSight's identity and designed ITAD conference print materials.

Quoting Tool, full team.
the problem
The Quoting Tool is GreenSight's web platform for pricing used devices. Every action in the old interface triggered a pop-up that pulled technicians out of their workflow. Many of those pop-ups looked nearly identical, making it easy to lose track of where you were in the process. Completing a single quote took around 40 clicks.

the fix
The team redesigned around an expandable sidebar that kept the quote table visible while giving each task room to focus. Drawers felt too cramped for the data technicians needed mid-quote, and full-page editors broke context entirely. The sidebar cut clicks per quote from around 40 to 15.
Seamless editing, quoting, and exporting
Technicians price devices directly from the sidebar while the full quote table stays visible on the left.
the dashboard
GreenSight also needed a dashboard for technicians and managers to track quoting activity, team performance, and environmental impact in one place. I led a team of two designers to build an overview featuring customizable widgets, from environmental impact to units-per-hour trackers, letting each user optimize for different goals.
a design system built to grow
We built GreenSight's design system in this phase to keep the team consistent. It carried through to Scan-for-Value, and I extended it further when I refreshed the identity for print.

June – September 2025
Scan-for-Value, with Maxine.
GreenSight brought Maxine and me back for a second contract to design Scan-for-Value for web, mobile and tablet. SFV (scan for value) is tool that helps technicians make smarter decisions at intake by scanning devices, identifying specs, and suggesting whether to resell, refurbish, or recycle.
web first, then mobile
We designed the web version first to integrate with GreenSight's existing suite and give admins visibility into scanning activity. The web platform provides a dashboard of all scanning sessions, user management, and a direct connection to the Quoting Tool so work flows between products without starting over.

the scan flow
With the web experience set, we extended the same flows to mobile. Technicians scan a device, the app identifies it and autofills the specs, then surfaces complete device details without manual entry. Multiple devices can be processed and reviewed in a single session.
Take a photo of any device to identify with artificial intelligence.
Specs, category, and model fill in automatically.
Process multiple devices in a single session.
pricing and session stats
Each scan returns a real-time appraisal that suggests whether to resell, refurbish, or recycle based on current market conditions. Technicians can monitor devices processed per hour, total session value, and environmental impact during a session.

refining the identity
GreenSight asked me to refresh their identity alongside the print work. I redrew the logo using the headline font from the UI, let the G become an arrow, an extension of the recycling value. I introduced a new color palette and built a centered stacked version alongside the horizontal, so the mark could hold up across a wider range of applications.
extending to print
I carried the refreshed identity into print for the ITAD conference, designing a standing banner, a hanging banner, and a brochure. A system built to hold up from screen to trade show floor.

Mackenzie Kettwig
Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer, GreenSight Technologies
We've been working with sophia since she co-led a team of six at Iter8. She helped build GreenSight's design system, and a lot of what we've built since sits on that foundation. She's delivered our marketing materials and the mobile app alongside Maxine, for two years now.
For a team of engineers, having someone who brings a real design perspective from outside our own thinking has been invaluable.
